RERUN_LOG.txt -- re-runs made at the writing of the note, on 2026-10-11 (UTC), from a copy of this package
(Python 3.13.5, numpy 2.5.2, sympy 1.14.0, networkx 3.6.1; macOS, one laptop with 16 cores): Parts 1 to 4.
Part 5: re-runs made on 2026-10-12 by the third verification run.

"IDENTICAL": the new output equals the recorded output after removal of running times and progress lines;
what exactly is removed is stated in README.md, section "Re-running". No recorded file was changed by the
re-runs, with one exception that is not a re-run result: verification_run_B/out/examples.out is the output of
examples.py after the heading of its first item was reworded (README.md, "Changes made to the files for this
package").

Part 1. All thirteen runs of original/ (sh rerun_original.sh python3; 5 worker processes; 1227 s in total)

output result wall time command

test_lib.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 3 s python test_lib.py
enum_pm1_k3.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 3 s python enum_free.py pm1 3 4
enum_Bn_k5.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 9 s python enum_free.py Bn 5 5
extra_Bn_k5.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 4 s python enum_extra.py Bn 5 5
check_lemma4.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 23 s python check_lemma4.py 5 6
random_growth_k4.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 42 s python random_growth.py 4 20000 20261011 5
enum_pm1_k4.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 113 s python enum_free.py pm1 4 5
extra_pm1_k4.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 48 s python enum_extra.py pm1 4 5
random_growth_k5.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 123 s python random_growth.py 5 20000 20261011 5
enum_Bn_k6.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 324 s python enum_free.py Bn 6 5
extra_Bn_k6.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 173 s python enum_extra.py Bn 6 5
random_growth_k6.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 176 s python random_growth.py 6 12000 20261011 5
random_growth_k7.out IDENTICAL up to timing marks and progress lines 186 s python random_growth.py 7 6000 20261011 5

Note on enum_Bn_k6.out. The first comparison of this run removed only the running times, and it reported
this output as different from the recorded one, in one line: the recorded output contains the progress line
"analysed 40000 / 86764", the new output does not (it has the lines for 60000 and 80000 only). enum_free.py
prints such a line when the 20000th, 40000th, ... result returned by the worker processes belongs to an
essential irreducible orbit, so its appearance depends on the order in which the workers return. All other
lines, among them every count and the complete list of the 726 free orbits, are identical. The comparison
was then extended to remove these progress lines (rerun_original.sh as shipped); the table above is its
result on the outputs of this run. The second verification run had obtained an identical output including
the progress lines (verification_run_B/claim_rerun/comparison_with_saved_outputs.txt).

Part 2. Output of sh run_quick.sh python3 (the quick programs of all four parts)
The same script was run once more from an extracted copy of the archive source.zip (before this sentence
was added to the log): 40 of 40 comparisons IDENTICAL, the lists of free orbits in agreement, 223 s.

Part 4. The program of the note, complete run

python3 check_note.py 333 s on one core 74 checks, TOTAL failures: 0
The recorded file writing_stage/check_note_output.txt is the output of this run. The quick mode
(Part 2) repeats 70 of the 74 checks.

Not re-run at the writing (recorded outputs only): verification_run_A: enum_tests.py Q5:minus B (856 s) and
Q6c B (434 s), neighbors.py r3 and r4 (226 s, 633 s), and the outputs in first_pass/ (written by the first
version of enum_tests.py, which is not in the package); verification_run_B: the enumerations in B_6 and the
other outputs of batches 1 to 5 which are not named above (see README.md, section 4).

Part 5. Re-runs of 12 October 2026 (third verification run; same machine and interpreter as above)

(a) Before the revision of the package, from an extracted copy of the archive of 11 October 2026:
sh run_quick.sh python3 239 s 40 of 40 comparisons IDENTICAL; the lists of free orbits in agreement
python3 check_note.py 334 s TOTAL failures: 0; IDENTICAL up to timing marks (85 lines compared)
                                         with writing_stage/check_note_output.txt

(b) independent_run_2/: all programs were written and run on 12 October 2026; after the last change of a program
all of them were run once more (sh run_all.sh python3, 1498 s with 6 worker processes). The recorded outputs
are those of this last run; they agree with the outputs of the earlier runs up to running times.

(c) After the revision, from an extracted copy of the new archive (sh run_quick.sh python3, 360 s): the 40
comparisons of Part 2 IDENTICAL, the lists of free orbits in agreement, and for independent_run_2/:

selftest.py: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (51 lines compared)
examples_sec7_sec8.py: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (66 lines compared)
    hypergraph_lemma43.py 6 6 5 6: DIFFERENT (19 and 19 lines)
    table1_orbits.py pm1 3 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (20 lines compared)
    table1_orbits.py B 5 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (20 lines compared)
q_families.py b4sub 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (5 lines compared)
q_families.py random4 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (13 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank3:4 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (17 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank3:5 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (10 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank3:7 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (10 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank3:8 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (10 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank3:9 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (10 lines compared)
gf_tests.py rank4:4 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (18 lines compared)
    general_exponents_gf.py 2 3 4 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (9 lines compared)
    general_exponents_gf.py 3 3 10 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (9 lines compared)
    general_exponents_gf.py 2 4 11 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (9 lines compared)
    general_exponents_gf.py 7 3 3 6: IDENTICAL up to timing marks (9 lines compared)

Note on hypergraph_lemma43.py. The difference was in the order of six lines (the six labelled copies of the
complete quadrilateral for k = 3), which the program printed in the order in which the worker processes
returned. The program now sorts these lines; nothing else was changed. It was then run three times
(10 s each): the three outputs are identical, and the recorded output hypergraph_lemma43.out is the first
of them. All counts were the same in every run.

(d) The same script was run once more from an extracted copy of the archive which contains the program in
this form (before this paragraph was added to the log): 57 of 57 comparisons IDENTICAL, the lists of free
    orbits in agreement, 365 s.
