Re-run of the reproducibility package of the first version (second independent verification run, 14 October 2026)
==================================================================================================

The archive release/source.zip of the first version was extracted into a new folder; every program with a recorded
output was run from there (python -B -I, nice -n 10; Python 3.13.5, numpy 2.5.2, scipy 1.18.1; at most four
processes at a time) and its new output was compared with the recorded file.

./check_note.py                                exit=0 time=2s  identical to check_note_output.txt
original/check_pi_exact_d2.py                  exit=0 time=0s  identical to out_check_pi_exact_d2.txt
original/check_numeric.py                      exit=0 time=3s  identical to out_check_numeric.txt
verification_run_A/exact_d2_checks.py          exit=0 time=0s  identical to out_exact_d2_checks.txt
verification_run_B/run_d2_exact.py             exit=0 time=1s  differs (2 diff lines) to out_run_d2_exact.txt
verification_run_B/run_d2_more.py              exit=0 time=1s  differs (2 diff lines) to out_run_d2_more.txt
verification_run_B/crosscheck_d2_numeric.py    exit=0 time=3s  identical to out_crosscheck_d2_numeric.txt
verification_run_B/kim_vs_checkmin.py          exit=0 time=2s  identical to out_kim_vs_checkmin.txt
verification_run_B/d2_smooth.py                exit=0 time=19s  identical to out_d2_smooth.txt
verification_run_A/cantor_noise_check_d2.py    exit=0 time=51s  identical to out_cantor_noise_check_d2.txt
verification_run_B/d3_numeric.py               exit=0 time=22s  identical to out_d3_numeric.txt
verification_run_A/numeric_extra_checks.py     exit=0 time=79s  identical to out_numeric_extra_checks.txt

The two differing outputs differ only in the last line, which records the running time:
--- out_run_d2_exact.txt (new < recorded >)
69c69
< == failures: 0   (time 0.7 s)
---
> == failures: 0   (time 1.2 s)
--- out_run_d2_more.txt (new < recorded >)
28c28
< == failures: 0   (time 1.1 s)
---
> == failures: 0   (time 1.8 s)

Every output reports 0 failures.
