# Verification of the smooth trapping construction

The six-page English preprint proves a complete scoped result: the
discrete-time maximum Hausdorff dimension is two, attained by a single
smooth area-preserving plane diffeomorphism. The maximum for complete
jointly smooth autonomous area-preserving plane flows is one.
Finite-regularity continuous-time questions remain unresolved.

The written self-audit checks local finiteness, global invertibility,
the area Jacobian, contraction for every infinite code, exact branch
membership, geometric backward escape, the telescoping series, strict
Cantor separation, product dimension, and attainment for one map.
The flow proof includes the critical-value dimension lemma and treats
regular level components and stationary points separately. No gap is
known in this scope after the originating researcher's self-audit.

The standard-library checker performs 147010 exact rational checks and
876 periodic-code replays, each with 24 forward and 20 backward steps.
An independent rational linear solve checks the series formula. It also
checks cylinder gaps, parameters for the first 100 block indices, and
four negative controls. Normal and optimized runs agree. These are
supplementary finite tests, not proof-assistant verification of the
infinite or smooth claims.

The desktop compiler and Tectonic successfully compile the source. All
six pages were visually inspected, with no clipped formulas, missing
characters, undefined references, or reported box warnings. Only the
author name appears in the title block; affiliation and contact are
footnoted, and AI assistance is disclosed in ordinary prose.

The source ZIP includes the mathematical proof, self-audit, literature
scope, portable checker and expected output. Packaging requires matching
normal and optimized replays from the extracted archive. Third-party
source PDFs are not redistributed. The preprint has not undergone
independent peer review, and no exhaustive novelty or priority
certification is asserted.
